What Cyberattacks Do We Expect in 2025? Acronis Day at OAKA

In 2024, Greece faced a significant rise in cyberattacks, with attacks increasing by 43% in the first quarter compared to the same period of the previous year. Specifically, 1,104 attacks were recorded in the first quarter of 2024, highlighting the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures. At the same time, research showed that over 50% of businesses in Greece increased their cybersecurity budget in response to the growing threat of cyberattacks. At European level, on December 2, 2024, ministers issued the Cyber Solidarity Regulation, aiming to strengthen cooperation and resilience against cyber threats.

Mike Mingos, Panagiotis Pierros, and the Tictac Cyber Security team discussed the cyberattack trends for 2025.

The goal of the event was, through short talks by industry professionals and presentations, to capture the real picture of cyberattacks in Greece and worldwide. Real cyberattack incidents were discussed along with the lessons learned from them. Additionally, it was presented how Acronis, through its solutions, can help all organizations and companies take significant steps in their protection, strengthen their compliance with the new legislation, and improve their business continuity posture.
